Sammy Owen – inducted into Blues Music Victoria’s Hall of fame for People’s Choice Award of 2025, has been electrifying audiences with his dynamic blues band since 2011. Throughout this period, Sammy and the band have performed extensively locally and nationally, featuring at prominent festivals such as Blues on Broadbeach, Thredbo Blues Festival, and regularly at Echuca Moama’s Winter Blues Festival. Sammy has had the privilege of sharing the stage with and performing alongside Australia’s renowned guitarists, including Geoff Achison, Jimi Hocking, and supporting Kevin Borich. Sammy’s primary focus is on crafting original music, with self-produced albums ‘The Neighbourhood Watch’ and ‘Pub Crawlin’, as well as recent online releases like ‘Don’t Turn My Amp Down’, driving the music featured in the live show. Influences from Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, and Johnny Winter are evident in Sammy’s guitar playing and live performances. Characterized by energetic and intense shows, exceptional guitar playing, and modern songwriting with old-school roots, Sammy has cultivated a loyal following in Victoria and across Australia.
