Otis Namrell Band
Artist Info
Otis Namrell is a 23-year-old blues and southern rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Originally from the Northern Rivers, Otis spent his teenage years crafting a unique and innovative approach to blues guitar playing, blending elements of jazz, swamp rock, country, and psychedelic rock into his distinctive style.
Since heading South, he has become a standout figure in Melbourne’s blues scene, regularly showcasing at venues like the Hume Blues Club, Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society, and Elwood Blues Club, while continuing to build his following nation-wide with performances at Queenscliff Music Festival, Agnes Blues & Roots Festival, Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues Festival and the St Kilda Blues Festival. The band’s shows are rowdy, high energy and filled with softer moments that show the group’s diverse abilities.
Though still young, Otis’s playing carries the soulful depth of a seasoned blues veteran, and his ability to improvise and connect with the crowd needs to be seen. He is backed by an exceptional rhythm section: Sonny Severin on Bass, who’s playing is inspired by his love of Jazz, RnB and Afrobeat music; James Barwick on Drums who brings a plethora of time behind the kit in Blues, Rock, Punk and Southern Rock bands to the show, and Jack Blandford on Rhythm Guitar/Vocals who has also previously played in Reggae, Bluegrass, Blues/Rock and Indie bands.
The Otis Namrell Band will have you moving, grooving and shaking with their infectious on-stage energy and music that moves through a range of genres including Blues/Rock, Country, Afrobeat and Soul.
