Liza Ohlback Is a triple “Chain” award winner and she is known for her powerful, soulful voice & spirited performances influenced by the great southern Gospel & Soul singers. Liza grew up in the Blues Mountains in Sydney and sang in her mothers Gospel choir before moving to Sydney as a teen, where she immersed herself in the Blues/soul and Jazz scene and worked regularly at major venues.
Liza is a successful songwriter having released 4 Blues albums, picking up 3 chain awards for her first album Trouble goin down and the only female finalist in the Chain awards for her second album “Give you Hell”. Her last 2 albums “Mercy Train” and “Unravelling” reached no #1 on the Aust and the U.S. roots charts, and top ten in the UK charts.
She has played most top festivals including Bluesfest, Blues on Broadbeach, Thredbo Blues & Jazz, Mitchells Creek and many more. Liza was chosen as the lead in Theatre Rockumentary “Pearl – the Janis Joplin Show which toured Australia for 3 years to rave reviews. She also featured in the 100 years of Billy holiday & the Ella Fitzgerald anniversariess at Sydney Opera House to sold out shows. She has also shared the stage with Tony Neville, Jon Stevens, Renee Geyer, Russell Morris and many more.
Liza has a few projects and her Mercy Train trio is proving very popular at festivals, with just Rick Melick on piano and Greg Ohlback on drums they romp and spirit their way through a gospel drenched show of Blues, Roots and New Orleans Jazz.

Rick Melick A master of the Hammond organ and a prolific piano player, Rick has toured around the world
with Jo Bonamassa, played at the top theatres and festivals, And shared the stage with
Eric Clapton, Paul Rodgers, Beth Hart and many more, as well as playing on Max Meritts latest album.
He has had 2 successful cd’s reaching top 5 in the charts and was also in “Pearl the Janis Joplin show”

Greg Ohlback
Greg is a top drummer/percussionist as well as the producer and engineer of Liza’s and many other albums.
He has played with Julian Lennon, and many top artists in Australia and was also in “Pearl”.
