After experiencing a stroke in 2021, amidst the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, that significantly impacted his life, Melbourne’s fiery singer, songwriter, and lead guitarist Jesse Valach is finally stepping back onto the blues stage with a new upcoming release: “Stroke of Luck”.
Having shared the stage with some of Australia’s blues legends including Russell Morris, Geoff Achison, Jeff Lang, Lloyd Spiegel, Jimi Hocking, and Ray Beadle. Jesse has carved out a reputation as a formidable performer behind renowned harmonica player Chris Wilson, honing his craft in the vibrant local blues scene through regular jam sessions and standout performances. Driven by unwavering dedication and powered by a killer rhythm section, Jesse Valach delivers electrifying live shows.
Their debut album reached #3 on the Australian Blues and Roots radio charts, a testament to their tight musicianship. His second album, ‘Separation Street,’ also gained extensive radio play, peaking at #3 and receiving a nomination for Best Blues Album of 2015 at The Age Victorian Music Awards. Jesse Valach also carries the honour of being Melbourne Blues Performer of the year 2017 where he represented the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in January 2017. Performing close to 200 shows a year including festivals such as Thredbo Blues, Wangaratta Jazz & Blues, Blues on Broadbeach, Australian Blues Music Festival, and Queenscliff Music Festival.
With two jam packed album launches under his belt and very successful over seas tours in New Zealand and Fiji, Mr Valach has proven that from local blues jams to the international stage he is a musician who is indeed on the rise.
