The Winter Blues Festival Homegrown Stage welcomes The Locky Ukers
The Locky Ukers are a uke-toting community music group lurking in the guise of ordinary rural citizens. On a Tuesday evening, in the tiny rural hamlet of Lockington, up to 15 excited townsfolk are transformed into a joyful band of ukulele players!
The group was born just one year ago, from a one-night stand teaching absolute beginners how to strum 3 chords on the ukulele. The group and their local popularity expanded exponentially as the “Locky Ukers” were requested for local gigs.
With a swag of popular covers and original songs, this uke-playing, song-singing, wise-cracking bunch share their joy of community music !
We respectfully acknowledge the Yorta Yorta and the Dja Dja Wurrung people, who are the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are located. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
