Paul Buchanan’s Voodoo Preachers are a Gippsland blues supergroup featuring members of the multi-award-winning Amnesia Blues Band, The Blues Lizards, The Strzelecki Stringbusters and Electric Blues Collective/The Wayward Aces. In August 2023 Paul Buchanan’s Voodoo Preachers qualified as finalists in the MBAS International Blues Challenge. In September 2023, the band were nominated for Music Victoria’s “Best Blues Work” award, and Paul was nominated for Blues Music Victoria’s “Hall of Fame.” Their two studio albums, Testimony and Down Sellings Lane have both reached #3 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts.
Buchanan’s manifesto has always been grunt over gloss and The Voodoo Preachers are clearly along for the ride.
